April Favorites

I never know what picture to put up for my favorites posts, so I put up a cute picture of Sienna sitting on my vanity. The lovely lace train case is a Caboodles case, of course. ;)

I really need to be better about remembering what my favorites are, haha. I always draw such a blank when I begin writing these posts. *rolleyes*

Skin Care Favorites

I have been using clickr’s acne spot treatment serum, which I really like. It has no benzoyl peroxide so it doesn’t dry out my skin even more than it already is! :) They sent this to me to review after hearing my cry for help on Twitter, so I’m super grateful that I’ve been able to use it! Full review is forthcoming. Thanks clickr!!!

I’ve been telling everyone how much I love Embryolisse Lait Creme (definitely hopped on THAT bandwagon!!!!), and I have a new beloved Embryolisse product this month – Baume Secours, or Dry Skin Balm. It’s a little round tin of very dense, very hydrating balm to be used anywhere on your body. I’ve been carrying it in my purse and using it as a lip balm since my lips have been inexplicably extremely dry for a while. I’m trying to make sure I stay hydrated and I switched toothpastes, so fingers crossed. I use this during the day because it’s very matte and not very slick, so it wears well under any lip products I want to wear during the day. I love that it doesn’t sit on top of my lips, but actually absorbs.

On a recent trip to LUSH I picked up Honey Trap lip balm and Lemony Flutter. Haven’t had a chance to use them that much, but they’ve both been good to me so far. Does anyone else have dry skin around their ankles? I don’t know why, but my skin is sooooo dry right near my ankles. Not on my ankles, but near it. It’s so dry that it hurts sometimes. The Lemony Flutter is helping with that! It’s much creamier than something like the Baume Secours, so I prefer it for larger areas. I do actually use Lemony Flutter on my cuticles too. It’s not the greatest smelling product in the world, but it works and that’s more important! Honey Trap is also a very, very nice lip balm that I have been using before bed.

And…one more product for lips – Aquaphor. I had a tube a while ago but it disappeared. I picked up a new tube and have been using it on my lips, especially the very outermost corners as they get super dry, cracked, and painful. I was kind of skeptical about it helping for some reason, but I swear by it now!

Makeup Favorites

I’ve been turning to my MAC Studio Fix powder a lot the past month. It gives fantastic coverage and doesn’t break me out. It’s soooo quick to apply, too. I just whack it on with my ELF Studio Powder Brush in a hurry and go. My mascara lately has been a surprise – I really, really like Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes. The best part about this is it’s the same Great Lash I used to hate with a passion, just with a new brush. Who knew? I will definitely be doing a full review of that, too! Color-wise I have been loving the bright lip trend, but don’t really have a particular lip product to highlight. I’ve been all over the place with different pinks and corals. Some that I’ve been wearing are MAC Hollywood Nights, MAC Watch Me Simmer, Revlon Tutti Fruity Lip Butter, and Butter London LIPPY in Snog (review coming).

Other Favorites

I’ve been madly in love with my LUSH Whoosh Shower Jelly. These are SO FUN! It’s like showering with jello. Whoosh has a really zippy citrus scent that I adore. It smells very fresh and clean. If you have the chance, you should try it.

I’m also sort of obsessed with Instagram lately. My name on there is glossmenagerie so if you are a fellow Instagrammer, follow me! :) I’m doing the Fashion & Beauty Photo a Day May Challenge (aka #FBphotoadaymay).

What products are you guys loving right now? Tell me!! I love trying new things. :)
