The lovely Erika of Unintelligent Design has graciously offered to share her Urban Decay Naked Palette swatches! If you’re not familiar with Erika’s blog you should definitely check it out. She is *gorgeous* and posts really pretty eye looks as well as great mascara comparisons, etc.
So here are the swatches (complete with Erika’s cute tattoo!)…
As always, click to view full size!
Top Row: Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Gunmetal
Bottom Row: Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep
Erika notes that since these were taken in direct sunlight the sparkly shades appear even more sparkly, and I can personally attest to that– this is as sparkly as they’re ever going to look! The swatches are done with one finger swipe on bare skin (no primer).
A word on the mattes…they look a little chalky in this photo, or at least not very pigmented/odd texture. From personal experience when working with matte shadows I recommend that you load up your brush and pack it onto the lid in a patting motion to get the best color payoff & evenness. Swiping as done with these swatches does not give you the true idea of how the product will perform on your lid if you apply it this way. Just a word of advice for if you’re ever in Sephora sticking your fingers in the testers, or if you are frustrated with applying your matte shadows. I can assure you that Urban Decay’s mattes are highly pigmented and smooth like butta.
