I’ve been excited for these releases since I first heard about the collection back in March. I was underwhelmed with the lipglasses and eye shadows that won, but very excited to hear about the return of these three lipsticks. Wanna see some swatches?! Of course you do.
MAC Candy Yum Yum (matte) – Neon hot pink, originally released with Quite Cute in 2011. So neon that my camera had trouble focusing on it, which is why the edges of my top lip look fuzzy. NYX has a similar shade in their matte line, if you missed out on this. It sold out very quickly.
MAC Moxie (matte) – Bright reddened pink, again my camera had trouble focusing on it. It’s a vibrant, sexy color and very chic with the matte finish. This lipstick was originally released with Retro Matte Lipsticks in 1999.
MAC Rocker (matte “ish”) – Deep red with subtle sparkles – but not a glitter lipstick by ANY means. This was also originally released in 1999 with the collection Time Rocker. This is a stunner. If you can still grab it, DO IT. If you are craving Queen’s Sin lipstick, check out Rocker. I think it’s a similar shade and a bit more forgiving than Queen’s Sin’s frost formula.
Did you grab anything up from MAC By Request yet? I already had the other shades I liked – Bait lipglass and Moth Brown eye shadow. I’m really glad to get my paws on these lipsticks though!
I already owned Candy Yum Yum from its original release and loved it. I thought I’d love Moxie but I’m not as impressed with it as I thought I’d be. I really do like the look of Rocker. However, glad I won’t be purchasing :) I think Moxie actually looks fantastic on you, as well as CYY.
