If you channeled your inner diehard Madonna fan last fall and hit the mall to find your nearest Macy’s in order to scope out the release of Madonna’s Material Girl line launch (nevermind the fact that it’s geared toward tweens), or have a daughter, niece, or kid sister that might be interested, I have quite the treat for you! Material Girl for Macy’s, the fashion brainchild of dance queen Madonna and her daughter Lourdes, is expanding from its usual Juniors apparel, shoes, and jewelry to try its hand in the beauty scene with a collection of lip glosses, nail lacquers, and body sprays to be released this upcoming fall. Again, it’s geared towards girls and teens, with fragrances picked by Lourdes herself (allegedly) that boast cutesie names like Wicked Watermelon and Flirty Fruit, but despite the targeted demographic, the polishes and lip glosses look like they have a good variety of practical, grown-up colors, on-trend edgy shades, with nary a bubblegum pink nor magenta in sight! Does Lourdes just have a ridiculously keen eye for beauty, or are today’s tweens just growing up way too fast? Okay, maybe a little bit of both… but either way, be sure to stake out the beauty goods when they hit stores this fall!
