I’m planning on taking a trip to South Coast Plaza tomorrow. For those of you who are not from so-cal and don’t know about SCP, it’s a makeup lovers paradise. First of all, it’s huge. The dept stores there are Macy’s, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, and Saks. All of those except Saks have a MAC counter. The Prescriptives counter at Macy’s is a custom blend location.
Inside the mall itself there is a Fresh store, a Bare Escentuals boutique, an Aveda, Origins, a freestanding Shu Uemura store, a big Sephora, and if the 3 MAC counters weren’t enough for you, there is also a MAC pro store. So uh yeah, pretty much if you want it, it’s there. The Chanel counter inside Bloomingdale’s is the most gorgeous makeup counter I’ve ever seen, and I don’t even like Chanel makeup. I know, I know.
Anyways…tomorrow’s visit will be to the Macy’s. I have a Prescriptives concealer to take back (Flawless Skin Total Protection). It cakes really bad if you use enough to cover a blemish entirely. No good. I was recommended by a friend to try MAC Studio Finish concealer instead, so I’m going to mosey on over to the MAC counter and check that out. I have Back 2 MAC empties to use, but I don’t really know what to use them on! I have so many lip items I don’t know what to do with them all right now. I just like to stare at the pretty. I guess I’ll just save them. If MAC’s concealer doesn’t do it for me, I’m going to get a custom blend concealer from Prescriptives. It’s kind of my last resort, since it’s over $30. However, for your money you get a great product, and plenty of it. I have a feeling I’ll end up getting the Px custom concealer. I’m more partial to liquid concealers because they’re easier to apply on the go. There’s no need for a brush to be involved.
I wish we got mail on Sundays.
