Summer Look

Here’s a typical summer weekend look for me! I apologize for the big ole’ watermark on there; you can never be too careful when posting your mug online, so I’m starting to watermark my pics from now on. Here’s the breakdown of this look:

FACE: Estee Lauder Doublewear foundation (shade: 1C1 Shell) with TheBalm Time Balm concealer (shade: Lighter Than Light), loads of MAC Fix+.

CHEEKS: NYX Stone blush on apples and swept up to temples, contour with MAC Emote blush, and highlighted with Wet ‘N Wild All Over Shimmer powder.

EYES: Urban Decay Primer Potion and MAC Sea Me shadestick to line. mark. Make It Big mascara.

BROWS: Stila Brow Duo powder (shade: Medium) set with clear Maybelline Great Lash mascara.

Lips: MAC Lollipop Lovin’ lipstick (from Heatherette).

So that’s a summer look, Alyson-style. Typically I guess summer looks are associated with bronze. Nude blush is as close as I ever get to bronzer. Bronzer just always looks wrong on me, like I need a shower because I’m dirty. NYX Stone is the best nude blush I’ve ever tried. It just looks so natural and adds just the right amount of color to my pale face. And it’s cheap! I believe I paid $3.89 for it.

I use summer to take the opportunity to wear some brights. I just got my Sea Me shadestick in the mail, and I’m in love with the color. It’s the most beautiful turquoisey blue. Boy, these things are budge proof. I fell asleep in that makeup and my eyeliner didn’t budge. In case anyone is wondering, neither did my mascara! I actually had a tiny bit of difficult removing the shadestick. That bodes well for future summer looks! I’m kind of obsessed with all things shadestick right now; I have several other shadesticks coming in the mail from swaps. They’re so fast and easy to use, and great for summer since they won’t melt off.

This makeup photo was taken with my camera phone. I’m having technical difficulties with my camera, and I’m not sure when I will be able to take pictures again for the blog! :( I will take more asap. I had taken a ton of photos when the card died, and I’m pretty sure they are all lost. Ugh!!! I can’t wait to get a new camera.
