Lately I’ve been using two different lighted makeup mirrors in order to compare/contrast for you all of their different mirror-y goodness. Both of the mirrors are from Jerdon.
The first mirror I got was the Jerdon Tri-Fold mirror. It is a very popular choice, and easy to find. Mine came from Bed Bath & Beyond, but they also carry these on Amazon, and I think at Sally Beauty. This mirror has been my trusty stand-by for a few years.
PROS-
– Convenient outlet in the bottom left corner (great for plugging in a flat iron, etc.)
– Several light settings to mimic different scenarios such as day, night, and office, very ample lighting for makeup application.
– Adjustable height/angle
– Large view of face
– Mirror reverses to a magnified side

– Affordable / easy to find (runs about $35)
CONS-
– Takes up a lot of space on a vanity, even when closed.
– Kind of finicky about turning on (you have to press down the button a certain way and hold it)
– Not very attractive
– White color can yellow in sun or look dirty over time

Recently I was contacted by Jerdon to ask if I wanted to review another of their mirrors and compare it. What I received is their oval lighted mirror seen above.
PROS-
– Attractive metal finish
– Much easier to turn on
– Takes up very little room on vanity
– 3 light settings
– Reverses to a magnifying side (that also has an inset that is even more magnifying)

CONS-
– No extra outlet
– None of the light settings are bright enough
– More expensive (around $80)
Overall I’m not really sure which mirror I prefer, as both of them have some very positive attributes. What lights/mirror do you use in your vanity area?
