Smashbox Softbox Lip Gloss Collection

Hooray for yummies from Smashbox! This summer Smashbox introduces the Softbox Palette and Softbox Lip Collection. The lip glosses in the Softbox Lip Collection go along with the “Get The Look” instructions for the palette, so if you get both sets you immediately have eyes and lips for a variety of pretty summer looks. I will be reviewing the palette also, but first I wanted to show you the lips!

The set comes with 6 glosses in (generously sized) travel sizes. You get:

  • Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss SPF 15 in 24/7 (new shade)
  • Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss SPF 15 in Infinite (new shade)
  • Lip Enhancing Gloss Sheer Color in Afterglow
  • Lip Enhancing Gloss Sheer Color in Illume
  • Lip Enhancing Gloss True Color in Brown Sugar (new shade – exclusive to this kit)
  • Lip Enhancing Gloss True Color in Glam (new shade – exclusive to this kit)
It’s easiest to break down the review by formula. The Lip Enhancing Gloss is Smashbox’s classic lip gloss formula. Full sized they are .2 oz for $18. The ones in this kit are .14 oz, so you still get quite a bit of gloss. Lip Enhancing Gloss comes in 3 formulas: Sheer Color, True Color, and Full Color. Sheer Color glosses are, as you would imagine, just a sheer wash of color but very high on shine. Full size glosses in this formula apparently have a brush wand, but the ones in this kit just have a regular doe foot, which is fine by me. The True Color glosses have more of a creamy pop of color than their Sheer sisters. The Full Color glosses aren’t represented in this kit, but are described as high impact color with pearlescent dimensional shine! The True and Full Color glosses both come with “velour wands” which I think just mean doe foots. These glosses aren’t sticky or drying, and seem to have slightly longer than usual lasting time for a not very sticky gloss. I attribute this to the sort of cushy “thick” formula. It’s not gloppy, but some glosses slip on to the lips like water and seem to disappear. These are more substantial.
Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss Sheer Color in Afterglow (top) and Illume
The Sheer Color shades in this kit, Afterglow and Illume, are both available in full sizes and said to be best sellers. I’m kind of a Smashbox noob so I don’t know about how popular the colors are, but they are quite pretty. However, if you have pigmented lips and don’t like layering glosses over lipsticks, you probably won’t find much use for these as they are definitely sheer like the name would imply. My favorite of the two is Afterglow, but that’s no surprise as it’s a peachy-pinky coral color that I am usually attracted to. Illume is a beige that doesn’t really lean too warm or too cool and has lots of shimmer.
Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss True Color in Glam (top) and Brown Sugar – exclusive shades
The True Color glosses are more my cup of tea, since they show up more on my bare lips (9 times outta 10 I do not have the patience to layer lip products!). These two shades are both new, and as of now are not available separately in full sizes. Glam is an orchid pink with shimmer, and Brown Sugar is a rosy brown with shimmer. Brown Sugar worried me, as I don’t know about brown lips on a cool-toned girl like myself, but since the color isn’t completely opaque and it has some pinkness in it, it looks okay. It’s still not my first choice in lip color on me, but I imagine it looking really pretty on someone else!
Smashbox Limitless Long Wear SPF 15 lip gloss in Infinite (top) and 24/7
The other two glosses in this kit are Smashbox’s new Limitless Long Wear SPF 15 formula. These claim to wear for 6 hours without ever being tacky or dry. So far I would say they really live up to the claim. Except I can’t say that the color lasts as long as the gloss entirely. It does seem to fade some, at least on me. Both of the colors in this kit are available in full sizes, separately. Infinite is a very sheer peachy nude, and 24/7 is a really striking raspberry. These have a weird applicator. They have a “contoured doe foot” meant to hug the lips to provide complete coverage in one coat. It basically looks like a doe foot on steroids. It’s big. It’s not cumbersome or annoying, it’s just funny looking to see this enormous doe foot come out of a lip gloss. Or maybe I’m weird. I don’t know. The full sizes of these are $21 for .1 oz, while the minis in this kit are a .05 oz size.
And now for some swatches!

Top to Bottom: Infinite, 24/7, Illume, Afterglow, Glam, Brown Sugar
Overall this is a nice kit of colors you are a die-hard Smashbox fan, or maybe don’t have a ton of lip glosses in your stash already. I find that the colors themselves aren’t terribly unique, though the formulas are pretty nice. If you have similar colors in your stash but don’t like the formula, you might want to check these out the next time you are out shopping. It’s a good deal considering the size of these glosses. It’s apparently a $77 value but I am way too lazy to do the math to see if that’s right. The whole kit is offered at $29. Not bad at all.
You can find the Smashbox Softbox Lip Gloss Collection now at Smashbox’s website, Sephora, or Ulta. It will also soon be up on Apothica.

Inglot AMC Lipgloss Swatches

Walking into an Inglot boutique is like a sensory orgasm, I swear. There’s awesome things to look at and touch all over the store. However, the AMC Lipglosses especially caught my eye. Inglot’s AMC stands for Advanced Makeup Components. I get the sense that it’s sort of like MAC’s pro products. These glosses aren’t big on pigment, but the color and effect is ridiculous! As in amazingly COOL looking. Like you see it and you just need to have it. Or at least, that’s how I felt! I picked up 2 of these glosses, which don’t have names (just numbers). I got #541, which is a milky blue that looks literally like it’s electric and glowing. I also got #545, which has a firey orange base but tons of prismatic effect that also reflects a rainbow and looks glowy and electric. The sales associate told me the bluish gloss helps make your teeth look whiter!

AMC Lipgloss is available at Inglot for $15.

Inglot AMC Lipgloss #541 on otherwise bare lips. You can see a bit of the purple-blue flash on my lower lip. It’s very difficult to photograph, but you can definitely see it in real life.
Don’t worry, I’ll have a lip swatch of Inglot AMC Lipgloss #545 in an upcoming post. ;) These lipglosses are so cool. They’re not very sticky, and have a doefoot applicator. They feel nice on the lips and smell vaguely fruity. The scent reminds me of EOS Starfruit lip balm.

Sephora’s "Give Me Some Lip" Set Has Lipstick Addicts Covered!

Normally I wouldn’t be inclined to buy a beauty set just because a store called it a compilation of their “favorites,” but based on the fact that I’ve far surpassed the 500-point mark on my Sephora Beauty Insider card, I think it’s safe to say I trust their judgement. I’m also a self-proclaimed lip gloss junkie, so it’s no wonder why the Sephora Favorites “Give Me Some Lip” Set has found its way onto my wish list! The 7-piece set features a slew of best-selling lip color favorites from across their board of brands — Tarte, Urban Decay, Lancome, Smashbox, and more — and even has your bases covered when it comes to kinds of lip products. Plumping gloss, lip liner, lip stain, and of course, the classic lipstick courtesy of Buxom, this set has just about everything you need to keep your inner makeup addict under control through the spring season (or at least through the next couple of weeks, if you really have an addiction). After all, a $62 value for only $26 is a great excuse to experiment if I’ve ever heard one!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Review

It’s been a little while since I’ve featured a product from NYX, so I am really excited to share their Soft Matte Lip Creams with you. From the instant I tried one on for the first time I knew these were special! They are unlike any other lip product I’ve ever used. And you have to imagine…that’s a lot of lip products.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in Sao Paulo and Stockholm

The product description is spot-on. It looks like lipgloss in the tube. Even when you pull out the wand, it just looks like any other creme finish lipgloss. But when you apply it, it’s insanely pigmented, and goes on matte. It’s not the dried out crackly matte of yesteryear either. Nope, this ain’t your mama’s matte. It dries down to a really pretty, almost stained effect. But it differs from a stain in that the color is even. For me, no matter what I do, traditional gel or liquid lip stains never apply completely evenly. The color always sinks into the little line down the center of my bottom lip (aka the lip cleavage, lol) and pools there. Not attractive! I also performed the “straw test” where I puckered my lips as if I were sucking on a straw (creates wrinkles on your lips) to see if the color would shift or crack. Nada! So if you’ve ever had those issues with lip stains, but still crave a similar effect, try these! However, I think everyone should try these. They’re really, really cool.

The two colors I tried are Sao Paulo and Stockholm. My Sao Paulo is labeled “San Paulo” so your label may vary. I would describe Sao Paulo as a pinked terracotta rose. On steroids. It’s very bold. But in a good way. Sao Paulo has completely rich, saturated color. It’s pretty bright on someone as pale as myself, but I’m not afraid to rock a bright lip. For the office, I blotted it to look a little more “stain-y” – yes that’s a technical term. Compared to the swatch on the NYX website I think it’s pretty accurate, but in real life is a touch darker and brighter, if that makes sense.

As far as wear time goes, I was shocked. Maybe this had to do with the fact that I’d already blotted it down to a stain, but Sao Paulo lasts. After lunch and dinner with no reapplication, I could still tell that I had lipcolor on. It was more prominent around the outer edges of my lips, but in a naturally defined lip kind of way rather than a “she’s wearing darker lip liner than her lips” kind of way – ew. And then when I woke up the next morning, my lips still looked pinker than usual.

Stockholm looks pretty straight up beige on the NYX website swatch, but in person is more pinkish. Stockholm is the kind of color you might want to wear if you have very unpigmented lips naturally and just want to look like you have some natural color to your lips. It’s not nearly as ‘out there’ or loud as Sao Paulo.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in Sao Paulo (top) and Stockholm swatched on pale cool-toned skin (I wear MUFE HD 110).

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in Stockholm and Sao Paulo blotted down to a stain on pale cool-toned skin.

Both shades of the formula feel weightless on my lips. They do not feel dry, or at all sticky/tacky. They claim to be moisturizing, and I’m not sure exactly how moisturizing they are. However, they definitely aren’t drying. But if your lips tend to be dry naturally, you might want to wear a gloss on top, or a balm underneath. Or both. I don’t know, do what you like! If you apply a lip balm ahead of time and then sorta blot your lips before applying, you’ll still get a matte effect from this lip cream. I wouldn’t say my lips felt moisturized after wearing it, but they didn’t feel dry either. They just felt like… lips. Which, when you think about it, is not a bad thing. These do have a scent, which to me smells like very artificial butter cream frosting. I don’t care for it at all, but it doesn’t linger so I can deal with it. My mom agreed that it smelled very fake, but she actually likes it haha. It reminds us of those cupcake dolls that were scented like different kinds of cake. Maybe this will have the same nostalgic effect on you.

There are 11 shades of NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream and they retail for $6 each. Money definitely well spent. I do not know if they carry these at Ulta, but they are online at Cherry Culture and Nonpareil Boutique! (I love NB but their swatches for this product suck big time) Since Sao Paulo is so bold and out there, I’d love to get my paws on the shade Addis Ababa. I think it will be a must-have for all hot pink lip lovers!

Philosophy Cinnamon Buns

Last night on Twitter I let you guys know that I got a package of goodies from Philosophy and asked if anyone had any review requests. This review was requested by @audreyvoss for the Cinnamon Buns 3-in-1 and lip shine.

Philosophy Cinnamon Buns Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath

While I’m a self-admitted Bath & Body Works girl, I also love my Philosophy. It’s more of a special treat than the B&BW stuff because it’s at a higher price point. Philosophy is great if you like foody scents because they have a ton of them. Cinnamon Buns is easily one of their best-sellers and a favorite for many, myself included. The scent is more than just cinnamon. You definitely get the warm bakery undertones of a true cinnamon bun as well as sweet gooey icing. It smells simply delicious!
Since I don’t have a bath tub I have not tested this particular 3-in-1 as a bubble bath, but back when I did have a tub my general experience with these guys is that as a bubble bath they are fair. I’ve had other things that make more bubbles, but they still do the job, and smell magnificent– you can smell the bubbles.
As a shower gel they are great. They lather really well and smell amazing. The smell doesn’t seem to linger very long or very strongly after a shower though. That could be a plus or a minus depending on your preference. I prefer them to not linger much so I can wear other scented things during the day.
When it comes to shampoo, I suppose this could work in a pinch, but for regular use I don’t recommend using them that way. My hair needs way more moisture than this product could provide, and when I have tried using a 3-in-1 as shampoo, my hair felt like straw. I treat these like just shower gels that can also bubble– I don’t even think of them in terms as a hair product and don’t recommend anyone else do so. Use Cinnamon Buns as a yummy shower gel, and enjoy.
It’s available in a 16 oz size for $16 or a mammoth 32 oz size for $25. Around the holidays there are small sizes available like in the holiday ornament, where a 2 oz size is $6, or in gift sets. A really awesome gift set is available from Sephora right now called Share the Joy, which not only includes the Cinnamon Buns 3-in-1, but it also includes the next product I’m going to talk about!
Philosophy Cinnamon Buns Lip Shine
I had never tried the lip shines from Philosophy until recently, so I was excited to try this one. The color is a beautiful light golden sheen, which in some light also has some pinky undertones to it.
This product comes in a squeeze tube with a slant tip applicator, which I really like. It gives great control over applying the gloss.
On my nails: MAC Nail Lacquer in Blue India from the Libert of London collection this past spring.

If you’re anti-sticky when it comes to lip gloss, you will probably not like this. I don’t mind sticky gloss, so it’s fine for me. It’s definitely quite sticky. I do feel it’s also moisturizing, which makes it pleasant to wear.  As far as how it looks on, it really just adds shine. I don’t even really see the sparkle. I attempted to take a photo of how it looks on my lips, which is basically just clear and really shiny.
Cinnamon Buns lip shine on pigmented lips.
Cinnamon Buns is $10, and while I think it’s fun and nice to have, I’m not in love with it, simply because I don’t wear clear gloss very often. For me, this would wear best as a layering item over a lipstick. It’s a nice to have, but not a must-have.

August Favorites

It’s been a while since I’ve done a ‘favorites’ post, but it seems you all like them so here we go. Here’s what I was reaching for the most during the month of August. :)

MAC Studio Moisture Tint SPF 15
This product from MAC doesn’t get a whole lot of attention that I’ve noticed, but I absolutely love it. It’s sheer and light enough that it works on my pale as heck complexion and just gives me a little even-ness to my skintone.  I wear it in Light, as if that weren’t obvious haha. MAC describes it as “soft pale beige” and I agree with that. It’s not particularly pinkish or yellowish. I think it would work on just about anyone with fair skin. Since August has been hot, I haven’t wanted to wear a lot of heavy foundation. When I’m just running around doing errands I grab for this. There’s no chemical sunscreen, hooray!
$29.50 – available at MAC, and wherever MAC is sold

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
Whereas the Studio Moisture Tint doesn’t get much attention, this is a MAC cult classic. Studio Fix powder gives matte full coverage. I know it doesn’t agree with a lot of people’s skin, but mine thinks it’s just dandy. I wear shade N3, which is a great match during summer. When I get a little lighter during winter months I’ll tap a little Studio Fix Shivering White over it. Shivering White is a pro product. It’s a Studio Fix powder color corrector. It’s solid white, but it is not a white foundation in the sense that if you use it alone it will not give you solid white geisha-like skin. It just helps lighten N3 when I’m a tiny bit lighter. I’ve been wearing this whenever I actually need coverage because it doesn’t budge and it covers everything. Everything.
$26 – available at MAC, and wherever MAC is sold

Purely Cosmetics Oil Absorb Powder
Just try and get me to shut up about this miracle powder. Apply it in the morning, done. No touch-ups. All day. Oily t-zone? What’s that? Seriously. That’s all I really need to say. It’s just amazing. Try it yourself on the 18th when Purely Cosmetics is having their Anniversary Promo!
$16 – available only at Purely Cosmetics

MAC Lipglass in Perennial High Style
I don’t have a link to this one because it was a limited edition color and is gone “forever” until MAC decides to re-release it or recycle it (release it with a different name pretending it’s new). This one came out with the Liberty of London collection and…why wasn’t anyone talking about it? It was the gloss accompaniment to Ever Hip lipstick, which everyone went cuckoo for. Perennial High Style has a bit more pink than Ever Hip to my eye, but I absolutely love this color. It instantly brightens my whole face when I apply it, and goes with a variety of looks. I purchased it as kind of an afterthought, but boy am I glad. If you can get your paws on this one, grab it.

Wearing Perennial High Style lipglass

MAC Lipglass in Rayothon
Another discontinued item. Sorry guys! I have been shopping around in my stash lately and grabbed this beauty to rediscover. I’ve been wearing it a lot ever since. It was originally released in 2005 with the Belle Azure collection. If you’re not familiar with the color, it’s a pink with some peachy undertones and gold shimmer. Very fun for summer, and very flattering. Again, if you can get your paws on this– get it! If you’re looking for something similar, try MAC Lipglass in Nymphette.

Hard Candy Blush in Living Doll
I had to force myself to put this down and use some of my other blushes, I was using it that much. It’s a baked blush, very similar to MAC’s mineralized blushes. The color is a luminous dolly pink with some gold veining that adds such a beautiful highlight and warmth to the overall effect. I got this in a swap and it was sooooo worth it! But you can get it in stores still, so check that out if you’re looking for a very pretty and wearable pink blush.
$7 – available only at Walmart

Revlon Superlustrous Lip Gloss in Peach Petal
I could not find a link to buy this online, but it’s not limited edition so check your drugstores. The formula of Revlon’s Superlustrous glosses is really nice– smooth, moisturizing, not sticky at all, but up until recently I wasn’t too impressed with the color range. Then came Spring and the Daydreamer collection. Peach Petal is a very pale, very milky pinky peach shade. It’s in the same family as MAC’s Underage and C-Thru. This is another gloss I have been reaching for over and over and over this summer. Check out Pinkiecharm’s review on Youtube.
$6ish – most drugstores

Bath & Body Works Shower Gel in Pear
This is a new scent from Bath & Body Works. For this collection they stripped things down to the simplest, one note fragrances. Pear is fresh and juicy, and very refreshing in the shower! I am considering going back for the scent mist. The lather these shower gels give is outstanding. They recently reformulated (again) and I am thrilled to report that the results are fabulous.
$10.50 – Bath & Body Works

MAC Fall 2010 Viva Glam From Our Lips

Our favorite Viva Glam ladies, Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga are back this fall, and this time they brought lipgloss. Fall’s Viva Glam launch includes the two stunning Viva Glam lipstick shades, two lip makeup bags, and now two accompanying gloss shades to complement the lipsticks. This launches September 2nd and will be available through February ’11.

Viva Glam Gaga, Viva Glam Cyndi lipglasses (click to view larger)
As always, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the Viva Glam collection goes to the MAC Aids Fund. Remember also that Viva Glam items are not part of the Back 2 MAC program. In other words, you can’t get one as your freebie. You can recycle old Viva Glam stuff to get new freebies though.
I’m so excited for the Cyndi lipglass. Cyndi is one of my favorite MAC lipsticks. Do not be intimidated by the bright shade! This lipstick is very wearable and frankly, I haven’t seen it look bad on anyone ever. Gaga, while also pretty (I love pinks!) is a little hard to wear in lipstick form. Perhaps the gloss will be a good answer to anyone who was frustrated with the lipstick.

Multitask with Anna Sui’s Multipurpose Mini Rouge Lockets!

Anna Sui is known for sending classic-yet-updated designs down the runway, but unless you have a ridiculously generous budget for designer baubles, her accessories aren’t usually accessible. That’s why when the designer does come out with something affordable for those of us who aren’t in the market for fresh-off-the-ramp trinkets, they sell out in a flash. For example, those rose-shaped lip gloss rings that sold like hot cakes before any of us could get a hold of one! But luckily, Anna Sui is back with her makeup-jewelry hybrids (with a much more sufficient supply, I hope!), with her Mini Rouge gloss charms!

While it’s not as cute and compact as the sold out ring version, the black resin rose-shaped rouge “locket” is still super cute and can be worn on a necklace, a bracelet, a key chain, or just thrown in your bag! Available at Urban Outfitters, it comes in 10 different sparkly, sheer, or bright shades and has an easy-to-apply dewy, glossy texture. Though it’s advertised as “gloss,” the product is actually multipurpose — eyes, lips, cheeks, highlighter, etc — so it’s the perfect on-the-go product for quick minor touch-ups!

Favorites

I don’t think I really did a November favorites post. Oops. But I’ll just talk about some stuff that is my favorite right now. Because does the month part really matter? Nah.

LIPS

My favorite lipstuff definitely changes a lot, but I can tell you for sure one thing I am loving for lips right now is Philosophy’s Kiss Me balm in pink. I got it in Sephora’s deal that they had online for like, a minute that had the balm with 2 mini bath items for $5. But if you want it, you’ll have to go to Philosophy’s website because I don’t see it on Sephora, and it will cost you $12. Philosophy says they created this with someone in mind who is looking for the ultimate lip balm. I think they did a bang-up job. It’s very VERY moisturizing, refreshingly minty (without being tingly-burny), not at all sticky, and long-lasting. The pink shade imparts a tiny hint of color for a perfectly natural look. Kiss Me is also available in clear and red. I’d love to try the red!

I’m also loving and adoring all of my Stila lip glazes! Admittedly I have a ton of these, but they’re kind of addicting. They have pretty colors, fun scents (foody scents! yum!) and I may get flack for this but I love the click pen packaging! Click pens get a lot of hate because apparently some people have problems using them, like that too much (or not enough) product comes out, they leak, whatever. I have never had those problems (knock on wood) with my dozens of click pens I’ve played with over the years. Maybe I am magical. Maybe I am a sort of Click Pen Whisperer or something and they just obey me. I don’t know.

EYES

I am currently having a torrid love affair. With an eyeshadow palette. The NARS Pleasures of Paris palette, actually. This little beauty is 6 shadows of pure love. They’re very easy to wear neutrals. I am literally wearing this palette every other day, it seems. It’s available on the NARS website. It’s limited edition, so hurry if you want it. The shades in the top row of the palette (L to R) are Nepal, Violetta, and Demon Lover. On the bottom row there are Fez, Abyssinia, and Cordura. I’m not a diehard NARS fan (I only have this palette and one other, the Best of NARS palette), but I recognize awesome eyeshadow when I see it and this is a great versatile palette.

FACE

Run, don’t walk (or just open another tab) over to Meow Cosmetics. I am obsessing over the LUSH Blushes! Specifically Warm & Fuzzy, the soft peachy shade. It’s simply gorgeous and natural on, and goes with pretty much anything. Meow offers baggie samples for just $1, so you should go give it a whirl. Try the other lush blushes too! There isn’t one I don’t like.

Well, that’s what I’m really loving right now. Have you tried any of these? Do you love ’em?

Zoya Hot Lips Review

 Zoya Hot Lips in Heatwave

Like many of you probably did, I took advantage of Zoya’s Hot Lips glossy lip balms freebie offer and picked out my 3 free Hot Lips. Several shades were sold out by the time I got my act together and picked mine, but I ended up with Heatwave, Purr, and Starlet. Heatwave and Purr are creme finishes while Starlet has shimmer.

They seem like they would be pretty small. I was expecting something about the size of a mini Juicy Tube, but these are bigger. They come in short, kind of “stout” tubes that are actually 12g in the tube, so it’s a decent amount of product. The first thing I noticed when I opened the envelope they came in was the smell. They have a deliciously sweet fruity scent (kind of similar to the scent of L’Oreal Color Juice glosses). I have heard they are flavored but to be honest, I don’t make a habit of licking my lips when I have something on them so I wouldn’t really say I’ve tasted them.

The way Zoya refers to these as “glossy lip balms” is a bit misleading, I think. When I think of a glossy lip balm I think of Soft Lips, which is a lip balm that imparts some shine. These are really lip glosses that happen to be very moisturizing, but they are definitely a gloss. The three I got are very pigmented. I think they look best (and work the best at moisturizing lips) when they are patted on lightly like a stain, rather than slathered on like a balm. That way you get some color and the moisturizing effects.

The texture is very sticky. If you do not like sticky lipgloss you will hate these. I personally don’t mind at all, as some of my favorite lip glosses (Juicy Tubes, Stila lip glaze, etc.) are sticky ones. Other than the fact that wearing a red lipgloss to bed is kind of weird (lol) I like these as a bedtime night treatment for my lips. At least the stickiness means it’s not going to wear off in 5 minutes.

I’m pretty happy with the colors I have chosen. Heatwave in reality is much more coral-looking than the photo above. I was kinda hoping for a deep cherry red like the one pictured, but it’s a creamy midtone corally red. Still pretty on, though. The other 2 colors I chose are exactly what was shown in the pictures:

Zoya Starlet & Purr
They do not go on as dark/deep as they look in the tube but that’s to be expected. The only thing I really do not like about these glosses is the applicator. There basically isn’t one. The part of the tube where the gloss squirts out looks like the nozzle of a tube of lotion. A slant or round-tipped applicator would have been much nicer and would make this product easier to apply.
Would I buy these again? Not sure. They retail for $6 each, and while I do think that is a fair price for the product, I’m not sure I would spend the money knowing that I really do not like the applicator. There are many deals to be had on glosses whose applicators I like (ex– Juicy Tubes are often only about $7 at the Lancome outlet), so I don’t think I’ll be jumping at the chance to spend the same amount on a gloss with an applicator that bugs me. I will definitely use these 3 though and I do enjoy wearing them.
Did you get your free Zoya Hot Lips? What do you think of them? What colors did you get?
