This Weekend: ISSE Long Beach 2013

I know, I know…I haven’t even gotten up a post about IMATS LA 2013 yet, and I’m already talking about another event? YEAH. It’s TOTES CRAY. Check it…

This year is my first year going to the International Salon & Spa Expo (aka ISSE, or “ice”). It’s being held in Long Beach, CA at the Long Beach Convention Center (imagine that!) on January 26th-28th.

What is ISSE? It’s kind of like IMATS but for hair & nails. However, IMATS is tiny compared to ISSE – and you have to have professional credentials to get in. I’m very excited to attend, and have no idea what to expect since it’s my first year! But I’m way stoked to see some of my fav brands there. Since ISSE is pro-only, I’ll get a chance to really dive deep in to these brands and see what their newest launches are like! This show is also a cash-and-carry show, so perhaps I will have a little haul to share as well. If that is the case, I’ll probably do more of a collective show haul including IMATS and ISSE together.

Curious to know if you qualify to attend? The show is open to estheticians, makeup artists, massage therapists, salon managers, hair stylists, salon owners & staff, and distributors/manufacturers. For more information about eligibility, check out their FAQ.

By the way there are still tickets available to all three days as far as I know! For ticket info, check here.

So who’s going to be there? Here’s who is on my “must-see” list…

  • Amika
  • American Crew
  • Ardell
  • ARROJO (Nick Arrojo is also going to be speaking on Sunday!)
  • China Glaze
  • Clever Girl Innovations (home of GlamEars and GlamMats)
  • CND
  • CROC
  • Crown Brush
  • Dashing Diva
  • Essie
  • Great Clips
  • Halo Couture Extensions
  • Hot Tools
  • ION
  • Jessica Cosmetics
  • Macadamia
  • Million Dollar Tan
  • Morphe Makeup Brushes
  • NailTek
  • Nigel’s Beauty Emporium
  • NYX
  • Olivia Garden
  • OPI
  • Orly
  • Rockin Feet
  • Royal & Langnickel
  • Rusk/BaByLiss/Conair – the company I work for HOLLAAAAA
  • Seche
  • Veil Cosmetics
  • Vidal Sassoon

Aaaaand I’m positive I’m forgetting someone amazing, but you get the point – there are tons of awesome brands! And by the way even though I work for Conair, if you didn’t know Conair is a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge huge company that owns many sub-brands underneath. SO, I don’t actually know anyone who will be working this booth, they don’t know me, etc. The division I work for does makeup bags & brushes etc, not hair stuff. So anything I have to say about their hair stuff comes from me & my own opinions and is still unbiased. :)

So there you have it! It’s a busy time in the beauty world with IMATS and ISSE now back to back. I kind of wonder what sort of impact that is going to have on certain brands that may have previously done both shows (like NYX for example – they were not at this past IMATS LA!). After ISSE I will have about a month or so to recover before getting all geared up and excited for The Makeup Show LA 2013, LOL.

If you’re going to ISSE and we haven’t talked about it yet, definitely hit me up on Twitter or leave a comment below so I can meet up with you! The place is HUGE so I don’t want to just take a chance on running into each other… :)
