Velvet Manicure?

So I was discovering a new blog – The Daily Varnish (not a NEW blog, but new to me) and happened across this – the velvet manicure. It’s essentially a manicure with flocking powder on top, giving it a fuzzy texture. You can read all about how Alli created her velvet manicure it at TDV. Also, Ciate will soon be releasing a kit to be sold alongside their caviar manicure kits.

How do you feel about FUZZY NAILS? One of the commenters on TDV said it makes your nails look like muppets, and I couldn’t agree more. I guess it’s something creative…it’s kind of neat to see nail art evolving into even textural forms, but definitely not practical for everyday wear. Like the caviar manicure, it would appear this look is more for a one-day wear.

Love it or leave it?? I think the possibility for incorporating flocking powder into nail art is an intriguing one. Imagine if your next Easter manicure had a fuzzy yellow chick on it? Or a fluffy white bunny? Cute!

I think it’s interesting. Have you seen the salt one yet? I did a post about it. The whole texture thing is interesting.

This nail polish is very interesting, the color is lovely and I agree it’s like nail art which is a fad nowadays.  Just some questions, was it difficult to apply?  When applied how does it feel and look for you?
