The latest brand to hop on the BB Cream bandwagon that has exploded in the US is Bobbi Brown. Which begs the question, is this the first BBBB Cream?
Bobbi Brown BB Cream (seriously, try saying it 10 times fast I dare you) boasts a respectable broad spectrum SPF 35 and comes in 5 shades ranging from Extra Light to Medium/Dark. While yes most BB Creams are just fancy tinted moisturizers, this product does have some skin benefiting ingredients:
- Vitamin E
- Rice Bran Extract (Vitamin B)
- Scutellaria Extract (what a scutellaria is I have no idea, but its extract helps even skin tone)
- Sodium hyaluronate
- Argireline (a natural peptide that does magical things like boost collagen production)
- Caffeine!!!
Bobbi created this product to serve as a SPF-packed tinted moisturizer (or “light foundation”) in the short term, but in the long term it promises more even skin tone, reduced appearance of fine lines, and reduced redness and pores! Damn. I’d slather that on my face too.
Will you be trying out Bobbi’s BB? It’s available at Bobbi Brown and at various counters across the nation. You can even get it shipped for free from Nordstrom. Woot! But it’ll still cost you $42, which is a wee bit expensive for my taste. If it does what it promises though, it should be worth every penny!
Well, I have to say that this sounds like it could be the closest to hitting the mark that I’ve seen in a US interpretation of a BB cream, though I’d still like to see one with better anti-aging ingredients. I’m also encouraged by the shade range- I’m a pale girl, and when Bobbi says Extra Light, it gives me hope!
I guess the deciding factor for me will be coverage. I was skeptical when I first heard of BB creams, because tinted moisturizers have never cut it for me in terms of coverage. The great pigmentation of BBs is what converted me, and it’s probably the only thing that will likely sway me to try a US brand.
As usual, I couldn’t agree more! I would love to see what kind of coverage this has! I was really happy to see that it’s not just a tinted moisturizer though. At least, it claims to be more than one. ;)
Excellent way of explaining, and fastidious paragraph to take facts about my presentation subject, which
i am going to deliver in college.
