Review – J. Lynne Mineral Priming Powder

First off let me just start with a little disclaimer blurb. Yes, jlynne asked me to review their products and sent me some stuff to try out. However, they have not influenced my opinion of their products in any way, shape, or form! I have enough makeup that some free samples are not enough to make me throw my integrity to the wind and lie about liking something, lol…

Anyway, I give you my review on jlynne’s awesome mineral priming powder. The primer powder comes in 3 colors:
Porcelain/Fair for very light skintones
Peach for any skintone
Ivory Light slightly deeper beige for most skintones

I tried it out in peach. It does definitely mattify, and even out my skintone a bit. And control oil *very* well. I am pleasantly surprised by how well it controls oil and shine, actually. It makes a really nice primer for mineral makeup. I’ve also used it to prime before MUFE HD liquid foundation, and NYX liquid foundation. With MUFE it was great. NYX apparently does not really work on top of a powder primer as it made my foundation go on weird.

Ingredients: Kaolin (CI 77004), Calcium Carbonate (CI 77220), Zinc Oxide (CI 77947), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499). May Contain Ultramarines (CI 77007).

A full size jar is $15 and that is 5 grams net wt (30 grams net volume) – in other words, a lot of product!!

Or, you may try a sample for $2.50. The sample is a generous 1/2 tsp in a jar. I think that will go a long way.

If you are looking for a powder primer, or other great mineral cosmetics, give jlynne a try. They are very nice products. :) I previously reviewed their lash primer, and will be reviewing a few other products from them soon.
