Sephora Chic Week Sale

If you’re a beauty junkie, Sephora Chic Week is one of your favorite times of the year! That’s when everything is 15% off at Sephora and Sephora.com. The sale ends 4/22.

If you are planning on shopping in-store, you must have your Chic Week coupon. These were both emailed out and mailed out via snail mail. But if you want to shop online, just use the code CHIC for 15% off your purchase. The standard $50 free shipping threshold still applies (to the price before discounting). You can use gift certificates with the code but you can’t stack other codes. You also still get your standard 3 free samples. Hooray.

Now, a lot of us don’t get excited about 15% off because it’s kind of a small discount compared to the old Sephora Friends & Family discount of 20%. And for certain things, this discount really isn’t that amazing. For example Urban Decay still does their regular F&F sale which offers 30% off, so unless you want something right now it’s better to wait for one of their in-house sales. This is true for many brands, which is why I didn’t grab anything by UD, Bobbi, Tarte, etc.

BUT! This is a golden opportunity to nab some stuff that frankly never goes on sale at a small discount. For example, Sephora online now carries Dolce & Gabbana makeup. When was the last time you heard about Saks having a sale on makeup? Also, if you were planning on splurging on any big ticket items, a little discount helps ease the hurt on the ole’ wallet.

Or maybe you’re like me, and when Ulta is having their 20% off, what you wanted is of course out of stock so you are settling for 15% off.

My Sephora Chic Week Haul…

My Sephora Chic Week haulage was pretty basic. I opted only for practical stuff, not $33 lipstick (yikes, D&G…you’re killing me). I ordered the Clarisonic Brush Head for Body along with the extension handle. The extension handle was kind of an impulse buy but I’ll give it a shot and see how it goes. I also wanted to try a new sun screen since I’ve been using a lot more chemical exfoliants and such lately that make the skin more susceptible to sunburn. I picked out the La Vanilla Healthy Sun Screen which offers broad spectrum coverage of SPF 40 and has no chemical sun screens in it. I’m allergic to avobenzene, which is a very popular sun screen ingredient, so I prefer to use mineral sun screens. Since I’m so pale, the possibility of a mineral sun screen leaving a white cast on my face doesn’t really bother me. Even if it does leave a white cast on my face, who could tell?

Once my goodies arrive I will be sure to let you all know what I think of them, of course. :)
