Metallic Nail Polish Technique

It seemed impossible to me that I didn’t have a particular hue of nail polish when I went to do my latest manicure. I wanted silver. Chrome-like silver nails. But alas, I did not have anything of the sort in my collection! The closest thing I had was Zoya Harley, which is pale grey with shimmer. I did end up doing a Zoya Harley manicure (topped with some glitter, and it looked very pretty!) but it did not satisfy my silver nail yen.

So the last time I was in Walmart, imagine my delight when very quickly after skimming the nail polish shelves I spotted Pure Ice Silver Mercedes. Here’s a picture of the bottle:

It’s perfect. Exactly the chrome silver shade I was looking for. I’d never tried Pure Ice polish before, so I don’t know where you can get it in-store besides Walmart. It’s made by Bari Cosmetics and is Big 3 Free. I think I paid about $2 for it. Prices vary from store-to-store according to the Walmart website.
But we have a problem. Metallic shades like this one are an absolute bitch to work with, and this one is no different. It streaks like no other. It also shows every little imperfection on the surface of my nails. In order for the best possible results I took the following steps when working with this polish.
– Buff, buff, BUFF. Make sure the surface of your nails is as pristine as you can get it. Fire up the ole’ nail block, kiddies. I have a little battery-powered buffer from Essence of Beauty (CVS house brand) that works pretty well. It comes in a little kit with a file and some cuticle cream for $9.99.
– BASE. COAT. I highly recommend using a ridge-filling base coat even if you don’t have ridgey nails. It will help give as smooth a surface as possible. I used more than one coat of Essie Ridge Filling Base Coat.
– When you’re actually painting your nails, make sure the brush has a lot of polish on it. Way more than you’d normally want when doing a manicure.
– Work quickly in as few strokes as possible. If you have a wide nail art brush that you can use instead of the one in the cap, that might work better.
– Extend your drying time. Let the polish dry *completely* before adding another coat or before even applying top coat. You can create streaks in your polish by applying your top coat if it has not completely dried. I haven’t yet experimented with using quick dry drops to speed up this process. Just do it in front of the tv or something so you won’t be bored while you wait and tempted to rush things.
By the way after following these steps, I still had to re-do several of my nails because they came out crappy, lol. And some of them probably still need re-doing but I decided to just go with the flow because I’m going to re-do my manicure soon anyway.
Why would I go through all of this trouble for a manicure? Uh, because look at it:
CHROME, baby. That’s exactly what I wanted it to look like. I know I have polish on my fingers but I hadn’t cleaned up the manicure yet. It’s not perfect by any means; there are a bunch of faults with the manicure, but my goodness. I love the look. This color would look really cool as a base for some nail art too, so you could cover up any “oopsies” with rhinestones, painted flowers, konading, etc. Just remember to make sure everything is totally DRY before you do your art on top. ;)

Moisturizers – Tips & Favorites

Hello! I am returning from vacation and back to the world of updating regularly. ;) I had a wonderful trip to WA state! I am unfortunately kind of under the weather now though. My allergies were going nuts up north and I’ve kinda felt yucky ever since I got on the plane to come home. Blah. Thus, I haven’t felt too inspired to play with makeup lately. It’s a huge bummer since I have lots of new stuffies to play with.

When it comes to moisturizers, I have a few requirements. It has to sink in nicely and not make my skin feel greasy. It also has to wear nicely under makeup. I hate when I apply a moisturizer and then my makeup applies like crap on top of it. Yeah I have primers and such I can use to help prevent that but I don’t want to have to use primer. I typically leave primers for special occasion products when I want to look extra perfect. ;)

Facial Moisturizing Tips

For the best results, apply your moisturizer and then wait anywhere up to about 15 minutes or so before applying makeup. Take the time you are waiting and do your hair, brush your teeth, groom brows, or whatever else you have to do. If you’re a tooth whitener person, this is a great time to pop in your trays or slap on some white strips.

How much moisturizer to use? Usually the total amount of product I use when applying moisturizer amounts to about the size of a kidney bean or less. This includes my neck. You don’t want to slather on tons of moisturizer. If you are finding that such a small amount does not fully moisturize you, you’re better off using a richer cream than just adding tons more of the one you have. Using too much “stuff” on your face can clog pores. Yuck.

If you use one that has a pump and it gives you too much, use the remainder on your hands. The anti-aging properties in many facial moisturizers work wonders on keeping your hands looking young.

Everyone should have at least some sun protection on every day. This is especially true if you use any acne-fighting products that might make your skin more sensitive to sun. Wearing sun protection not only prevents sunburn, it also helps prevent wrinkles, age spots, freckles, and other discolorations of the skin. It’s really tricky sometimes to find a sunscreen product that plays nicely with your skin and any other products you might use. I’m not totally married to one yet, though I do like MAC’s Prep + Prime Face Protect as well as Avene’s SPF 50 emulsion. Neither one of those is a moisturizer though, and I really would rather find a moisturizer with SPF that I like so that I don’t have to apply so many products. Still working on that one. Sunscreen is an incredibly complex genre of skin care product that I still do not know very much about, but as I learn I will keep sharing with all of you!

Facial Moisturizer Favorites

I have said it many times, but Alba Botanica + my skin = BFFL. I’ve tried 3 different moisturizers by Alba and my skin loves them all. For combo or oily skin I recommend either the Sea Lipids Daily Cream or the Aloe & Green Tea oil-free moisturizer. Sea Lipids is almost watery in consistency but wears very well under makeup. It smells a little funky to me, and it does contain fragrance, as well as oil. However, oil isn’t a bad thing in a moisturizer. The oils in Sea Lipids Daily Cream do not break me out. If scent is an issue for you, or if you really want something oil-free, you’ll love the aloe & green tea moisturizer (which has fragrance sourced from botanical fragrances, not artificial parfums). It smells so good. It also has hyaluronic acid, which is an ingredient that I cannot stress the amazingness of enough, especially for oily skin. For dry skin or for a richer night cream, the Jasmine Vitamin E cream is heavenly. It does smell very heavily of jasmine though. All 3 of these products are under $20 each at local drugstores.

Another favorite of mine that I recently went back to using (I have to take breaks from my favorites a lot in order to try new products for you!) is Grassroots’ Pomegranate Super Anti-Oxidant Cream. Grassroots is a brand made exclusively for Kohls stores by Estee Lauder. Their products are very very high quality and this is no exception. I love that it is rich without being heavy and leaves my skin feeling incredibly smooth. This one is a bit pricey. Suggested retail is $32.50. However Kohls has sales pretty often, so if you’re interested in trying it out be on the look out.

And of course…last but certainly not least of my favorite moisturizers is one I reviewed fairly recently, DERMAdoctor Litmus Test. A very expensive indulgence indeed at over $50, I have noticed a long-term, marked difference in the overall pH balance of my skin since I started using it. Even when I go without using it for a few days, I can feel a difference in my skin’s overall hydration. Since I started using it I haven’t gotten any random dry patches, even in small areas where I’ve broken out. Basically, if you’re on the fence about this, please allow me to gently and lovingly shove you over the edge– try it. You’ll probably love it.

Working Woman’s Makeup Wardrobe

Man alive, am I glad it’s Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!

To combat my new work schedule (7 to 4, and then after that job I do work for my other job), I have started a new ‘thing’ to make getting my face on in the morning much easier: Palette of the Week.

I keep my makeup stash in my bedroom, but since I don’t actually get ready in the bedroom (I do everything except put my clothes on out in the bathroom or the tv room where my laptop is), I keep my brushes and a large makeup bag in the bathroom.

In that makeup bag are my daily essentials and my Palette of the Week. Every Friday I will change out the PotW. By the way when I say “palette” I might mean a literal makeup palette, or a specific handful of eye shadows with 1 or 2 blushes, or whatever. The lip color(s) I’m using that week will just hang out in my purse, along with blot sheets, my Urban Decay De-Slick powder, and my Eco Tools Travel Kabuki brush.

The Daily Essentials I keep in my makeup bag are…

– MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in “Light”
– NYX The Makeup liquid foundation in “LM02 (Ivory)”
– Sonia Kashuk blending sponge (the Beauty Blender dupe)
– Makeup Forever Full Cover concealer in shade “02” (Porcelain)
– Urban Decay Primer Potion (duh!!!!)
– Billion Dollar Brows brow powder in “Taupe”
– Anastasia brow gel (which I honestly don’t always use, though I probably should lol…)
– Mascara (This has varied a little as I’m finding some of my mascaras are dry and need tossing. Not sure which one will go in there next week! Maybe my Fresh mini duo as I’m loving those a lot.)
– Prestige Total Intensity eyeliner pencil in Black
– NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk (I’m test driving this as a base for light colors right now.)
– Bare Escentuals On The Spot makeup removers (LOVE these!)

So I keep that bag in the bathroom so I can do the basics. I also have a little brush cup that is always equipped with these brushes:

– Stila #7 (I have 2 of these. It’s one of my favorite brushes!)
– ELF Eye Shadow Brush (Another one I have 2 of…)
– MAC 217
– MAC 219
– MAC 224
– ELF Powder Brush (you think I’d given up on that baby? hell naw.)
– ELF Complexion Brush
– ELF Contour Brush (which I actually like for crease work…)
– Billion Dollar Brows double-ended brow brush
– ELF Small Angled Brush
– Laura Mercier Flat Liner Brush
– Crown Brush Domed Blush Brush
– FLIRT! Powder Brush (their dual fiber brush)
– Hollywood Brushes Blending Brush (similar to MAC 224)
– ELF Tweezers
– Brow Scissors

Those are the ones I really use the most of my entire brush stash. I have a slew of others that are just packed away because I don’t really use them and don’t really want to take the time to go through them and mess with swapping them, etc. I have a few others in the cup but they’re not used nearly as often. This weekend I will take pictures of these brushes. I don’t say you have to have exactly these brushes, that’s for sure. You can probably find dupes for a lot of them, especially with pictures to show you what they look like. (But come on, those ELF brushes are $1-$3 apiece, just buy that one!)

So far I’ve found this idea to simplify things a great deal, rather than spend time fishing around in my drawers in the morning. Gotta conserve every minute so that I can spend maximum time in bed sleeping. ;)

Tips & Tricks for Awesome Lips

I am pretty obsessive about taking care of my lips as I consider them one of my best features! Here are my tips & tricks for awesome lips…

Exfoliate
Lips are skin and thus require exfoliation like any other body part. However, the skin on your lips is VERY delicate. You don’t need a fancy “lip exfoliator” product. Exfoliation can be done with a moistened soft toothbrush or washcloth on a regular basis. If you choose to use a toothbrush, use one that hasn’t been used to brush your teeth. Toothpaste contains ingredients that are very drying to the skin, and for some people even cause dermatitis. I know I said you don’t need a fancy product for exfoliating your lips, but there are still some out there that I really like. These are just kind of if you want to use them for extra help. My favorite one is very sadly discontinued– mark. Kiss Xpert. This product was in-freaking-credible for when my lips needed some extra TLC (like after a cold when your whole body needs some TLC!). It was $5 or less and worked great. I have a couple that I’m hoarding and you’ll have to pry ’em out of my cold dead hands. Another option that I haven’t personally tried but have heard very good things about is Mary Kay Satin Lips Lip Mask ($9.50, marykay). The Mary Kay lip mask also comes in a set with a Satin Lips balm for $18. Similar to the Mary Kay product is Benefit’s Dr. Feelgood Lipscription, which is a buffing scrub and silky balm in a set. The set is $32 though and that seems like a bit much for a product that you really don’t need.

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!
Lips need moisture! I keep hearing about all these moisturizing lip products– lip glosses and lipsticks that claim to balance your lips’ natural moisture. Pucky, most of them. Seriously. Think about it– you apply moisturizer to your skin before you apply makeup. Why would you neglect to do this for your lips, too? I did this without thinking and did not realize that many women do not. I always apply balm before any gloss or lipstick, no matter how moisturizing it claims to be.

But Alyson, a shiny lip balm will change the finish of my lipstick! I know what you’re thinking. You don’t have to use a shiny lip balm. There are several lip products out there that are not shiny at all and will do the job without changing the finish or depth of your lipstick/gloss/etc.

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm – $3 at drugstores
C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Balm Stick with SPF 15 – $7.50 at Bath & Body Works
Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 – $7 at Sephora, Beauty 360

Personally I don’t care about a little shine. If I’m worried the balm makes my lips too “slick” for the lipstick I’m wearing, I just let it sink in a bit and then blot with a tissue (actually napkins work better for blotting in my experience).

And don’t forget to wear sunscreen!
Lips can sunburn. And it hurts really bad. So it’s always a good idea to have an SPF product for your lips around. I admit I do not wear SPF on my lips on a daily basis, but if you’re going to be doing something like going to the beach, walking around at an outdoor mall, etc. it’d be a good idea to have one of these or something like them around…

Burts Bees Weatherproofing Lip Balm – $3 at drugstores
MAC Lip Conditioner SPF 15 – $14.50 at MAC – comes in tinted versions as well as a stick

Night Time is the Right Time
I always wear lip balm to bed. I wear a nonsticky one and apply it well before going to bed. I keep one on the nightstand so I don’t forget. :) Your skin is in state of repair at night when you sleep, and you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to help your skin heal itself.

Quick Fix
A MAC artist taught me that if you need a fast-acting surge of moisture for your lips to dab on your favorite deep moisturizing eye cream. MAC’s Fast Response eye cream is great for this purpose! I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it moisturized and plumped my lips.

Hope these tips help you. :) I also wanted to include some other lip balms I love…

  • Philosophy Kiss Me high emollient lip balm in Pink – $10 @ Philosophy
  • Softlips Pure in Chai Tea – < $4 @ drugstores
  • Sephora Professionnel Most Complete Lip Balm – $2 @ Sephora
  • Wet ‘n Wild Juicy Lip Balm – $3 @ drugstores
  • Lipsmackers – $1.50 @ drugstores
  • Labello (particularly in Dragonfruit) – not available in the US, available at smallflower.com for about $7 ea.

What about you? What are your favorite goodies for pampering your lips?

How Old Is Your Makeup?

Hey everyone!

I just found out about this spiffy website, the Cosmetic Wizard date calculator. You can input the batchcode on your makeup product and it will tell you when it was made so you can find out how old it is. Cool!

Check it out: Cosmetic Wizard

I will add this to my links on the side of my blog, too. :)

When To Toss It

I had a conversation with one of my besties this evening about when to throw stuff out. I told her the rules I generally go by and I thought I’d share them with all of you!

First, consider that those magazine “rules” that tell you to throw out everything after 1 year– bullcrap. Complete bull!! They are trying to sell you more makeup. However, little do they know I would still buy makeup even if I didn’t throw out my makeup bag every year, so joke is on them. Nyah! I’m an addict!

Anyway, here are the rules I go by for When To Toss It:

Foundation (Liquid) – Toss when it separates and/or changes in color/scent.

Mascara – Toss every 3 – 6 months. The difference between 3 and 6 months varies. Some mascaras just dry out quicker and by 3 months you know they’re just done. However, if you’re nutty like me and have several different mascaras that you rotate, one of them might only get used 1x a week. That one you can usually keep around for 6 months. Just keep in mind that every time you open a mascara you are exposing the product to air, which speeds the process of it going bad. If your mascara seems dry and gross before 3 months, by all means TOSS IT. And if you get an eye infection, please toss your mascara. I don’t care if it’s $20 DiorShow. Just toss it.

Lipstick – Toss them when they smell funny. And by funny I mean they will smell like a box of crayons with a dead fish inside. It’s unmistakeable. Even NARS lipsticks, which don’t smell particularly great, will smell much worse when they have turned. You will know.

Lipgloss – Toss them when they separate or smell bad.

Eyeshadow, Blush, Pressed Powder – Toss them when you’re dead. In fact, don’t. Will them to someone. All jokes aside, powder products like this pretty much last forever as long as you take care of them. Take care of them? Yes. Don’t use your grody fingers or nasty makeup brushes coated in face grease on your powders and they will last a lifetime. What kills these is often interaction with oil. Ever have an eyeshadow that develops kind of a “film” on top and now you can’t pick up any color off it? You killed it. You might be able to scrape off a layer (THIN layer people, don’t dig to China) and continue using it as normal, or you might have killed it. This can also happen from using a powder with water that is not meant to be. Baked eyeshadows (like Milani, Laura Gellar, many others) do just FINE with water. Others do not and they get that gross film and they’re goners forever.

Pencils – I can’t imagine why you’d need to toss a pencil. Sharpen it and life begins anew.

Anyway, those are just my general guidelines. This isn’t rocket science. If it smells like funk or doesn’t look like the same thing you purchased, don’t put it on your face.

Sick Girl Tool Kit

Hey all!

It’s been a while since I last updated. Sorry about that! I went out of town for a family thing on the 8th and didn’t get back until about 2 in the morning on Monday. While I was gone I had the fortunate luck to get sick! Woohoo! It’s just a yucky cold, but since I have asthma everything hits me harder when it comes to upper respiratory issues. :( I am swiftly on the mend now that I have some good meds, though, and Mr. Boyfriend is taking good care of me!

Since being sick is on my mind lately (haha), I thought I’d share my Sick Girl’s Tool Kit…which is just a bunch of things that I always make sure I have on hand for when I am sick besides medicine.

#1 – Sudacare Shower Soothers in Lavender Mint
These little babies are sooo awesome. My mom turned me on to these a few years ago when I was really sick and she went to the drugstore to get provisions for me. She saw these and thought they sounded cool, haha. They ARE cool. They’re a little tablet that you place on the shower floor. They fizz up and vaporize in the shower, releasing soothing vapors that help clear up congestion. They smell nice and the lavender is very relaxing, and I always breathe a little easier after using them.
Available at Drugstore.com & other drugstores for around $5ish

#2 – Vicks VapoRub
Okay I know this is really kicking it old school, since who doesn’t have some childhood memory of getting smeared with this greasy gunk? Well in researching for this post I have come to find out it is now available in “greaseless cream” formula, but where’s the fun and nostalgia in that?! This concoction contains soothing menthol, eucalyptus oil, and camphor. It is also a topical analgesic, which is medical terminology for “if you smear this on your nose you won’t be able to feel your nose for a while!” which is great when you have a case of raw, ouchy nose. Smear on a little mustache of Vicks before bed for easier sleeping. As an added bonus, I have noticed that the menthol in Vicks is also great for shrinking a blemish over night. It’s not a miracle cure, but I always notice a difference the next morning.
Available at Drugstore.com & other drugstores for around $5ish

#3 – Apple Juice
I can’t stand orange juice. I know it’s good for you and you should drink it when you are sick, but ugh. I hate it. So I guzzle cold apple juice instead. Or gatorade, when I’m not eating because I am feeling too cruddy. Available just about anywhere. :P

#4 – Puffs Plus Lotion Facial Tissues
Holy crap. If there is a Rolls Royce of tissues, this is it. These tissues are comfortable even for the most painful raw nose. It needs the lotion for its skin. Get these.
Available at any drugstore for about $3 or less, but if you have a sore raw nose they’re worth about 10x that.

#5 – Friggin Leopard Print Snuggie
Of course, opting for the leopard print is optional (fools), but it’s the best way to go in blanket with sleeves (!!!) apparel. For those of you Snuggie non-believers out there, you just haven’t had the pleasure of wrapping your shivering, germy body up in its soft, cuddly fleeceness. And for that reason I feel sorry for you. Shun, shun the non-believers.
Available all over the internet or at Target for around $15

#6 – Bath & Body Works Shea Socks
These socks are super soft microfiber socks that are infused with shea butter. Sounds like a gimmick, but I’ll be damned if they’re not the softest socks I’ve ever had the pleasure of placing on my tootsies. They’re super comfortable, and they have a non-skid bottom which comes in handy if you are clumsy like me, or for wandering into the kitchen in the middle of the night for a glass of water to down yet another dose of Nyquil. (Note: kids, drugs are bad mkay.)

So that’s my sickness arsenal. What do you keep on hand for when you’re down and out with Martian Death Sickness?

Special honorable mention: Always keep makeup wipes on hand when you’re sick. Who feels like going through their regular skincare routine when they’re sick?? Just wipe yourself down with a facial cleansing wipe and get to bed, missy!

Hair Routine

Today’s my day off and I had all sorts of fun activities planned, but my really really sore back has other ideas. I know, I know…not quite 23 and I have a bad back. Sad but true.

Anyways, I decided to share with you my current hair routine, because I’ve been loving my hair lately. :) It’s an odd mix of cheap and expensive.
Shampoo & Conditioner
First strike– I use a 2-in-1. These are usually highly ineffective. But I don’t care. Strike 2– it’s for children, lol. The shampoo/conditioner I’ve been loving lately is L’Oreal Kids Gentle 2-in-1 in Mango. No, REALLY. Sometimes I use it twice to get my hair really super clean, but it’s wonderful. :) And smells so good.
Once a week or so I use Suave Daily Clarifying shampoo and then deep condition with either my favorite– Sunsilk Hydra TLC mask, or Sunsilk’s Color Boost in Beyond Brunette (both of which I think are discontinued but can still be found at various close-out stores and in a few online locations). Note, the color boost conditioner comes in 2 different shades of brunette. There’s one for brunette with auburn tones and one for regular brunette. I use the plain brunette because my hair naturally pulls a lot of red and I’m actually trying to keep it looking chocolaty!
Pre-Styling
After washing I towel dry (just by squeezing the hair in a towel– not rubbing! Rubbing causes breakage and such. Then I comb through it gently with a wide tooth comb and spray some Aussie Hair Insurance leave-in conditioner throughout my hair. I use about 4 spritzes or so. After that, I squirt about a nickel-sized amount of GVP Smoothing Serum (generic version of Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum) in my palm, rub my hands together, and then apply it all over my hair. The serum reduces drying time, sleekifies, and adds protection from heat styling. After it’s all in, I comb my hair again to make sure it’s evenly distributed, and define my part with a parting comb.
Styling
Yay! Now it’s time to blow dry. I use a T3 Pro hair dryer. A lot of people ask me if the expensive dryer is worth it. To put it simply, absolutely. It’s “relatively” quiet (compared to other dryers), lightweight, and I notice a definite decrease in the amount of post-drying frizz/floofiness (that’s the technical term). The dryer comes with a concentrator attachment which I use occasionally, and I also have the diffuser attachment which is fun for more natural looking wavy hair rather than my usual straightened hair. By the way the link to the T3 pro is for the best deal I’ve found on the web– $88 plus free shipping w/ Amazon Prime.
Now on a day when I’m in a hurry, I can be done now. On a day when I want to go the extra mile, I continue. Depending on how frizzy my hair looks after blow drying (usually not too bad) I apply a small (dime to nickel sized) amount of Living Proof No-Frizz creme. I just have a sample of the creme but I’m using it sparingly so it has lasted a while. It’s for medium hair which actually isn’t what I have. I have fine hair so I “should” be using the spray, but I don’t have a sample of that. ;) I do plan on treating myself to the spray when I can though. The Living Proof products are fan friggin tastic. They also repel dirt, so your hair stays looking cleaner longer. WAY cool.
On a day when I go on to style my hair, I use my GHD Pure styler. The GHD is the rolls royce of hair stylers, hands down. I have straightened and done beachy waves with it. It looks great and the styles stay in longer than any other flat iron I’ve used without the use of hairspray. I love how quickly it heats up and that it beeps when it’s done heating so you know it’s ready. The floating ceramic plates have rounded edges and they do not snag on my hair. At all. I got mine at a massive discount, and it’s a good thing because these babies are pricey. They are worth it though. If you’re in the market for a great flat iron, go for the GHD.
Important Note: If you do decide to buy a GHD, I cannot stress enough that you need to do your homework and buy one from an authorized retailer (ie BeautyChoice, Sephora, Folica, GHD themselves, or an approved salon retailer). There are TONS of fakes out there. More fakes than real ones, according to a rep I spoke to with GHD. The official GHD website has a list of approved retailers. Do not buy one on Ebay, Craigslist, etc. There are a few real ones there, but the vast vast majority are fake. Do not risk it. I’ve seen a fake GHD in person and compared it to my real one and they are very convincing! Many fake GHD flat irons are even registerable on the GHD website. Unbelieveable.

A Hands On Beauty Tip

Here’s a random beauty tip for you that I thought I should share.

I just applied my eye cream as I prepare to get ready for bed. Some people might think that being just under 23 is too young for eye cream, but I already have undereye fine lines so why not? It’s a good idea to start young and make good habits! :)
My eye cream bottle has a pump dispenser. It always dispenses a little bit too much for the eye area. You have to be careful not to over apply eye cream because if you put too much on you can cause milia, which aren’t fun or cute.
Anyway, they say other than your face, your age really shows in your hands. So when I apply eye cream, I rub the excess cream into my hands. Keeps them soft and smooth and hey since my eye cream is made from coffee beans they also smell fantastic. ;)
